Cubase ASIO Overload Fix

Cubase ASIO Overload Fix

Postby ken » Mon Aug 24, 2009 12:20 pm

Hi all,
We have had some customers with ASIO Overload problems in Cubase. We have had some success with the following solution. Go into VST Connections and delete ALL of your input and output busses. Then simply re-add them.

This did not work for me. I'm running Cubase 5 with a Mia (not MIDI) on a P4 3.0 ghz w/2gb of ram. I've updated the drivers (old ones from 2004), I've increased the buffer size to 1gb and beyond, uninstalled and re-installed the card...any other suggestions?

I'm also experiencing the same issue with Gina24 and Cubase 5. The suggested fix didn't work for me and even a fresh install of both the card and the program didn't help. The overload happens only in Cubase, no problem at all with other software which uses ASIO (Sound Forge 10, Recycle, etc.). The only workaround seems to be ASIO4ALL which, in my case, works with Gina24 only after unchecking 'Synchronize Wave Devices' (!?!)
Looking forward to see a real and definitive fix.

Actually I have solved the overload problem by removing the ASIO driver of my other audio interface (KRK ERGO, a firewire device that I use in standalone mode, therefore it is not even plugged to the pc). So I think it was both an ASIO drivers conflict or a firewire interference.
Hope it helps.
